40th Anniversary Memories

As part of Bhaktivedanta Manor’s ongoing 40th Anniversary celebrations, throughout this year a variety of senior devotees will be sharing their special memories. The next two upcoming presentations in the Manor Temple room on this theme include:-

Tuesday 23rd April at 7.30am:  Bhakti Chaitanya Swami

Friday 26th April at 7.30pm: Dhananjaya prabhu. “The Journey of Radha Gokulananda”

Bhakti Caitanya Swami

Bhakti Chaitanya Swami was born in Auckland, New Zealand. In 1972 he first met ISKCON’s founder A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in Auckland University. A year later he joined ISKCON in London and received initiation from Swami Prabhupada at Bhaktivedanta Manor, who gave him the name Raghubhir das. In 1994 he took the renounced order of sannyasa and received the name Bhakti Caitanya Swami. Later he became a member of the Governing Body Commission and ISKCON Guru.

Dhananjaya

Dhananjaya prabhu  was one of the early British disciples of Srila Prabhupada who helped George Harrison discover and donate Bhaktivedanta Manor. He and his wife Bala Gopal dasi were also instrumental in helping to transport Sri Sri Radha Gokulananda from India to their present abode at Bhaktivedanta Manor. Dhananjaya prabhu is without doubt a devotee who has an abundance of precious memories.
