Altar Renovation Updated

Altar Renovation Updated

As part of Bhaktivedanta Manor’s Anniversary Celebrations we will be renovating the Altar of Their Lordships in the Temple room.

The renovation work will commence on Monday 22nd July 2013 and will continue for the next three weeks. Scheduled to be completed on 12th August 2013.

During this time, the Deity Worship  will go on as normal and at the scheduled times.

There will be a temporary Altar in the Temple Room, which will reduce available space.  The Temple Room will remain closed/locked from 1pm to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time.

LATEST NEWS ON RENOVATION WORK

With day one completed, the temporary altar was built, temporary lighting installed, the deities were moved successfully, and the altar room sealed from the front and opened from the back. The entire area has been ripped out and the floor is 70% lifted. The heavy drilling should end today.

Jobs for today are clearing the area, wiring, levelling floor, underfloor heating, cleaning and sealing the gold altar. As tomorrow morning Paris Ceramics, a high end specialists in marble and stone floorings, arrive to begin laying the new floor, the area needs to be spick and span for Them.

We are saving what we can of the original mosaic floor that Srila Prabhupada walked on. There is a plan in place for what we will do with it. It was unfortunate that we could not just restore the original floor as the marble tiles had been cemented onto it.

Thank you for you patience during this time of inconvenience.
