Please see details below of two exciting new transformational seminars coming soon at the College of Vedic Studies. The first is communication-based and the second focusses on adopting responsible paradigms and freeing ourselves from the burden of victim consciousness. Please see details below.

Conscious Living seminar
To serve in any field of endeavour requires the ability to listen and the commitment to understand. This seminar, which is based on spiritual principles of conscious living will give one tools, skills and practical experience for such transformative communication. Vaisnava philosophy is centred around the principle of empathy – A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada was a great example of this. Other famous people like Theodore Roosevelt quotes: “people don’t care what you know till they know you care” and Paul Tillich’s says: “The first duty to love is to listen”. This seminar is essential for coaches and mentors in all fields.

In this seminar you will:
– Get to transform and build more meaningful relationships
– Gain insights into your communication style and how it affects your life and work
– Learn how to overcome ‘roadblocks’ to effective communication
– Discover problem-solving strategies
– Integrate assertiveness and gain self-confidence

Course Date: Sunday 22nd February 2015
Time: 2.00pm – 5.30pm
Venue: Bhaktivedanta Manor
Course Fee: £25

You can sign up to this course by following the Paypal link below, or at the Manor reception (01923 851000, option 9). You will then receive e-mail confirmation of your place on the course.

The Responsible Paradigm
A key element of trustworthy character is being a person of your word.  Indeed, one of the foundational principles of Krishna consciousness is responsibility. This is a very broad subject, and overlaps many other important principles such as accountability, honesty and integrity, all of which are fundamental to relationships in today’s world.

The Bhagavad-gita is all about Krsna encouraging Arjuna to be responsible, honest about his own nature, material and spiritual, and acting according to that. It can be surprising to observe how prone we are to slip from these principles in our day-to-day lives. This can in turn affect our relationships with ourselves, our loved ones/others and even God.

In this seminar attendees will have an opportunity to cultivate this trait. Personal growth principles taught in this seminar are essential for any aspiring spiritualist.

In this seminar you will:
– Take a look at your relationship with your word
– Analyse the effects your behaviour has on your life and relationships
– Learn strategies for handling broken agreements
– Get to see how your language reflects your consciousness
– Learn alternative paradigm for conscious living
– Look to take full responsibility for your emotions and free yourself from the suffering of being a victim

Course Date: Sunday 1st March 2015
Time: 2.00pm – 5.30pm
Venue: Bhaktivedanta Manor
Course Fee: £25

Please note, the requirement to attend this second follow up seminar on ‘The Responsible Paradigm’ is that one must have participated in the first seminar above (‘Conscious Living’) or ‘Transformative Communication’ last September 2014. There can be exceptions for people who have knowledge and experience in this field. It is also imperative that all participants arrive on time – latecomers may be refused entry (without a refund) since this may lead to disruption.

You can sign up to this course by following the Paypal link below, or at the Manor reception (01923 851000, option 9). You will then receive e-mail confirmation of your place on the course.
