Garuda das was the first disciple of Srila Prabhupada to re-enter the academic arena for the sole purpose of establishing Vaishnava thought. He is a Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies and Director of the Asian Studies Program at Christopher Newport University, and was a resident fellow of the Centre for the Study of World Religions at Harvard
