Dusshera – Sun 17th Oct

The word Dusshera comes from the word `dus` meaning `ten’ and `hara`, meaning `annihilated`, referring to the destruction of the ten-headed Ravana. The festival marks the victory of Lord Rama, over this demonic king and the subsequent rescue of Lord Rama’s wife Sita.

This pastime appears in the great epic Ramayana, which will be enacted by the temple’s youth group, Pandava Sena. At the drama’s climax, with the final arrow shot by Lord Rama, a huge effigy of Ravana will burst into flames. Dusshera is celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement at Bhaktivedanta Manor with many expected to join us in the festivities.

We look forward to seeing you on the day. Free ticket required for entry (see below).
