Screen Shot 2014-06-06 at 19.04.51The term Ayurveda is derived from two Sanskrit words: ‘ayus’ meaning life and ‘vid’ meaning knowledge. The “science of life”, Ayurveda, is increasingly popular the world over, as people look for alternatives to allopathic care.

The Ayurvedic teachings have huge amounts of valuable insights into the process of childbirth and everything surrounding it, both pre- and post-birth. Since childbirth is one of the most significant events in a woman’s life, it is something that needs proper study and understanding.

Did you know that with just a few simple tips and hints, you can make a big difference to your child’s development; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually?

In this, the first of a series of sessions, Ananga Sakhi devi dasi will be sharing wisdom on the topic of pregnancy. The topics to be covered are as follows:

  • Diet and lifestyle during pregnancy.
  • How to develop the child on all levels whilst in the womb
  • How to prepare the body for labour
  • Post-natal care
  • Caring for a newborn

So whether you or someone close to you is pregnant, or you are planning for the future, this session will be invaluable. There are so many practical things you simply did not know about how to raise your child; here is a chance to come and learn.
