Sukadeva-Goswami-tells-the-stories-of-the-Srimad-Bhagvatam-to-Maharaj-Pariksit

The Srimad Bhagavatam (Bhāgavata Purāṇa) is an epic work of 18,000 verses over 12 cantos, and the foremost of the 18 Puranas. The profundity of the work is second to none, and after the Bhagavad-gita, it is the most important text for any sincere seeker to approach.

The setting is soul-stirring. Maharaj Pariksit, Emperor of the world, is cursed to die in just seven days. What does he do? Approaching the great sage Sukadeva Goswami, he asks some of the most fundamental questions of life. The ensuing discussion is inspiring, thought-provoking and full of insight.

However, many look at the breadth and depth of this great work and wonder how they will ever read it, never mind understand and apply it in their lives. The Bhagavat Life course provides an opportunity to gain an overview of one key pastime from each of the Cantos 1-10 of the Srimad Bhagavatam – in 10 weeks.

Each interactive session will take one of the seminal pastimes from the Canto and provide life lessons that are relevant to all. This course is sure to provoke deep thought, reflection and self-development.

Bhagavat Life is ideal for those who have completed Gita Life, but it is open to all. As with all College of Vedic Studies courses, recordings of all sessions will be sent out weekly to all participants.

This course should not be confused with the Bhagavatam Series which involves a more in-depth study of the Bhagavatam and is for the more experienced practitioners of Krishna consciousness.

Course dates: starting Sunday 18th January 2015 (for 10 weeks)
