How to be Krishna Confident
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015with HG Ghanashyam Priya das
Krishna consciousness is for everyone, there is no doubt about it. Indeed, Srila Prabhupada built a house in which the whole world can live. But in order to invite the world into our wonderful home, we have to help them to see the benefits of doing so.
Too often we lack confidence in presenting Krishna consciousness to others. How can we make it relevant to others and at the same time remain true to the ultimate reality? At work, at home, with friends, giving talks – there are a multitude of arenas where, as devotees, we struggle to represent ourselves in a credible way.
With this in mind, the College of Vedic Studies brings to you a series of 6 seminars and workshops on how to present Krishna consciousness to a contemporary audience.
In this course we will cover:
- Insights about sharing Krishna consciousness from scriptures: How have the representatives of the Lord shared his teachings?
- Public speaking training. Guidance on how to prepare & research for a presentation. Tips on presentation styles and formats
- How to relate our philosophy to key world events in fields such as politics, economics and religion
- On the spot thinking. How to answer common questions around family challenges, benefits of meditation, reasons for being vegetarian etc.
- How to connect our families, careers and networks to Krishna Consciousness
- How to observe and understand what a person needs to take the next step in their spiritual journey
- What is genuine care? How to provide 1:1 advice and guidance tailored to each individual
