British Sign Language for Beginners

Sign Language is a visual means of communicating using gestures, facial expression, and body language. Sign Language is used mainly by people who are deaf or have hearing impairments.

More and more devotees are coming forward who have such hearing impairments. Consequently, there is a growing trend of devotees looking to learn to communicate by sign.

This course is perfect for those who want to learn the basics of Sign language. No previous knowledge is required. However the course will also prove fruitful for those who already have some knowledge and want to have some practice.

Course Dates: Every Saturday, date to be confirmed
Time: 10am – 11.30am

Bhaktivedanta Manor
Course Fee: £40

About the speaker:
Prema Pradip Dasa has been in Krishna Consciousness since 1999. He began to learn sign language after meeting deaf devotees at the Manor in 2004. They inspired and encouraged him to share Krishna consciousness in sign language to the deaf community.

He has a plethora of qualifications in sign language including:
– Level 1 in Spanish Sign Language
– Deaf Awareness Course
– Level 2 in British Sign Language
– Level 3 in British Sign Language
– NVQ Level 4 in British Sign Language
