To display the utilisation of cows and oxen within society and promote the care and protection of cows.

Job Title

Farm/Goshala Manager

Location

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal requirements are followed in the husbandry of a herd according to
    government procedures
  • Ensure Food, Bedding and water is always appropriately attended to according
    to BM standards.
  • Injuries/illnesses of herd are treated/ dealt with appropriately.
  • Cows are milked twice a day following government FSA procedures.
  • Cows are cared for according to GBC laws dealing with cow protection.
  • Ensure Goshalla/Farm areas kept clean and tidy as far as possible
  • Ensure milkers are keeping daily milk records
  • Ensure that the Cows are being counted daily and health status checked
  • All 3 year old oxen to be trained and worked regularly
  • Ox work for coming year planned and posted
    – Pasture management
    – Manure allocation
    – Hay Making
    – Arable crops grown and harvested
  • Liaising with local farmers to secure feed and straw yearly needs
  • Scheduling personnel in the department so that all work is covered
  • Overseeing Holiday scheduling to ensure all work is covered.
  • Farm equipment is repaired or replaced as required
  • Major festivals are properly organised, prepared for and manned
  • Health and safety considerations are followed
  • Defining and implementing an annual budget
