Restrictions easing

Over the last year and a half, the ticketing system has been a successful arrangement, allowing for people to safely take darshan of Radha Gokulananda, and for the proper hosting of guests.

But as restrictions have eased across the country, we’re happy to announce that, starting from Monday, 4th October 2021, tickets will not be required to visit or worship at Bhaktivedanta Manor on a day-to-day basis, and that all current restrictions will be removed.

Tickets / bookings will remain in place for major festival days to ensure that adequate measures are made to receive everyone. Please read below for clarification on specifics.

Visiting Hours

Monday – Saturday:
10am – 1pm & 4pm – 7:30pm

Sunday:
10am – 7:30pm

Note:  Visiting hours are recommended for a full experience including darshan, farm, café, shop, and assistance from devotees. Temple grounds and building will remain open at other times including arati and darshan times.

Clarification on Specifics

Precautions

We will ensure that all spaces are cleaned regularly, and hand sanitizer is available around the site. Please do what you’re comfortable with, and please visit according to the times that best suit your needs.

Vulnerable / High-Risk individuals

We advise vulnerable and high-risk individuals to please visit Bhaktivedanta Manor during quieter times, generally on weekdays, for a more spacious and relaxing experience.

Masks

Face coverings will be optional – We will not be enforcing wearing a mask but masks will be available for those who want one.

LFT testing for events

No longer required – We advise that if you’re feeling any symptoms please take a test to ensure everyone’s safety. All staff / residents / volunteers will be testing regularly for the foreseeable future.

Kirtan / Obeisances / Sitting

Singing and chanting will be permitted in the temple room, including during aratis. Obeisances (bowing down) and sitting down will also be permitted.

Visiting Bhaktivedanta Manor

Can I visit all areas of Bhaktivedanta Manor?

Entry to Bhaktivedanta Manor is still ticket based. Please book Tickets for your allocated times / events.

The temple room, goshalla, gardens, playground, gift shop and bakery are open for visiting.

The main building will be accessible for darshan only. Other areas of the main building (including Srila Prabhupada’s Rooms) are accessible only during the early morning programme and for specific ticketed events and courses.

Visiting Times are
Monday – Friday: 11am-1pm & 4:20pm-7:30pm
Saturday: 10am-1pm & 4:20pm-7:30pm
Sunday: 10am: 7:30pm

Can I stay longer then my allocated times

Yes, your allocated time is your arrival times for darshan, you can stay longer to visit other areas of the Temple.

We are open from 10 am – 7:30 pm. more details to come.

Health & Safety

Do I still have to wear a mask

Yes, we strictly ask everyone to wear masks when indoors (unless exempt).

Is social distancing still in place?

Social distancing is recommended, however individuals can choose what they’re comfortable with.

Do I need to do covid tests?

You don’t need Covid (LFT) tests to visit Bhaktivedanta Manor.

A proof of a negative LFT is required in the last three days (72 hours) only for anyone who is attending any sit down event/ programme/ course indoors at Bhaktivedanta Manor.

All volunteers, residents and staff who serve at Bhaktivedanta Manor need to carry out a LFT every three days (72 hours).

Do I need to be vaccinated?

Vaccination is not a requirement to visit or serve at Bhaktivedanta Manor. All volunteers, residents and staff who serve at Bhaktivedanta Manor need to carry out a LFT every three days (72 hours).

Festivals & Events

Will there be festivals for Balaram Jayanti & Jhulan Yatra?

Yes. The location and details will be announced soon.

Will Janmashtami be going ahead as normal?

It’s a three-day ticketed and timed event, with focus on darshan, with one large open-sided marquee for kirtans, dramas, etc. And as always, wonderful free prasad. Please book your ticket!

Early Morning Programme (4:30am-9am)

Is the early morning programme open to everyone?

Yes, by booking a ticket you can attend any day of the week. You will need to show proof of a negative LFT test taken in the last 72 hours & face masks/coverings are strongly recommended (unless exempt) in enclosed spaces. (test kits available at the temple)

Do we have to wear masks?

Can we visit Srila Prabhupada’s Rooms?
Srila Prabhupada’s Rooms are accessible during the early morning programme, specific events and courses.

Will breakfast be served to those who come to the early morning programme?
Breakfast is only available on Sundays.

Can we stay in guest accommodation overnight?
Until further notice all guests, residents, volunteers staying overnight must show proof of double vaccination. LFT testing every 3 days will also be required.

The Yoga and Meditation Open Day for 2018 is on 7 July, Saturday, 10am – 3pm

What will I get from the Yoga and Meditation Open Day?

The Yoga and Meditation Open Day will give you and your family an incredible experience of activities and fun in the Hare Krishna tradition. You will have the opportunity to explore the amazing Bhaktivedanta Manor in a comfortable and friendly environment with lot of activities to take part in. The manor was gifted by George Harrison of the Beatles in 1973 and is home to the George Harrison Garden, Woodland Walk, the biggest cow protection and working oxen centre in the UK, organic farm, a magnificent Krishna Temple, Meditation rooms. And what’s more… we have a special Yoga and Meditation Theme this year which means you can get FREE Yoga and Meditation lessons! Apart from that, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Join in with our special yoga and meditation sessions FREE
  • Get a tour of the Mock-Tudor mansion gifted by the Beatles FREE
  • Feed the Oxen, Cows and the Calves
  • Go on an Ox-cart ride FREE
  • Try some face-painting
  • Decorate your hands with some Henna designs
  • Discover your future with ancient Indian palm-reading
  • Have some fun on the bouncy castle (kids only)
  • Try some amazing cuisines, snacks and sweets
  • Discover a traditional eastern culture with the Temple and Meditation rooms FREE

How much do I pay?

Entry the the Family Fun Day is FREE and so are a lot of activities. Some activities require just a small charge to pay for the items used.

Can I just turn up?

Yes, you can! Please do register with the registration gazebo to claim your free access to a lot of activities on site. If you’d like to be informed of future events similar to these, then just fill out this form and we’ll keep you updated!

Is there free parking?

Yes, and there’s lots.. you can bring a few cars.

What time is the FREE lunch?

The free lunch is at 3pm.

Can I bring my dog?

Although dogs are generally welcome on lead on the grounds during regular days, we request you not to bring your dog due to the number people present and any concerns they may have.

How long can I spend?

All day if you like. But a tour would take about 20 minutes, and then it depends what activities you want to take part in. We recommend a couple of hours at least to get the full experience!

What time is the yoga?

All day! Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, otherwise we’ll have one for you here. Due to the limitation of the size of the rooms, we’ll only be able to take the first 15 yoga enthusiasts!
